Twilight-- Oh my gosh!

Have I neglected to tell everyone about the best movie (and my experiences with) TWILIGHT??? Oh dear me, how could I? Okay, I went and saw the movie on opening day at the 12:01 am showing! My friend Leanne and I made shirts the night before to prepare! ((and may I toot my own horn here a bit? I drew the design and hand-wrote the "twilight" for the shirts freehand)) And all we did was use spray paint... and some little iron on sparklies.
The front of my shirt...

The back of the shirt...

Leanne SO EXCITED!!! Thank goodness for my dear obsessed friend!

Here we are in our seats with pal Kristen. We were about the fourth and fifth people in the theater!
Waiting in line over 10 hours is really hard work ;o) Luckily hubbies will bring treats and toys to keep us busy! Here we are with Brann in the back!
These are the people who were in front of us in line... and there were hundreds of people BEHIND us in line! There were 3 showings just after midnight, and they had us all line up together. It was so much fun! The movie is great! I have seen it 6 times, Leanne=5x, Brann=2x, Thomas=2x (or 3, I can't recall), Kristen=2x.... Twilight=goodtimes
And to all the lovely people out there who like to hate on people who wait hours in lines, and see movies repeatedly, (and obsessively read books, and make t-shirts) I say unto you I DON'T CARE! I am sure you all have things that you LOVE that make you happy. (and that you spend lots of monies on...) This last month has been about one of the funnestestest of my life! TWILIGHT FOREVER!

Hmong Christmas

Did you know that Santa is not a 'Whitie'? Nope, he is HMONG! I saw him make an appearance at an LDS Hmong Christmas party (which, p.s. had the most divine food ever!!! And we totally got stuffed cuz Hmong people love to feed us... and we love to eat it!) And Elder Vaj had to sit on Santa's knee again this year. He wished for world peace, I think. I really don't know, cuz it wasn't in English.

Merry Tacky Christmas!!!

This is my little Christmas set up on my desk at the office. Cute huh? Christmas is not quite complete without tiny trees and a musical snowglobe nativity.

This is me and my friend who shall remain nameless (apparently he may be wanted by the mob or something) wearing our UGLY CHRISTMAS sweaters. Mom bought these sweaters 2 for a dollar in OROVILLE. I had to classy mine up a bit. And I won 2nd place in the ugly sweater competition.

Here is Rebecca's classy little number! She got 3rd place in the contest... but truly, that is a dang ugly sweater!! We had a really fun time getting tacky for Christmas!

All Hallow's EVE 2008

Here's me from Halloween... Was I scary enough? I made my own mask, and paper mache-ed me some goat horns... It really doesn't look like me at all, huh?
Creep-tacular!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice horns, huh?

You can see better in this pic that I had half a mask and that my nose was really still there, though it appeared to be chopped off or something. I was 100% pleased with this costume since I had to throw it together last minute. (and yes, that is the same dress that my mom made for the midieval festival in 7th grade!)

And we had a beautiful tree/wood faerie...

And the always cute and quirky, Yurtle the Turtle!!!!

Luke and Zenobia were VAMMMMMPIRES!!!

WE had a great time at L&Z's party and ate way too much candy. What a geat time surrounded by some of my dearest friends!!!!!!!

Angie's Birthday

Here are some pics from the recent Bday trip for my good pal Ang.

Here we all are (Rebecca, Angie, Alli and Thomas) at the best Irish pub/restaurant EVER!!! we had the best clam chowder and fish and chips... yum. (The Place is called "Molly Brennan's" and anyone in the clearlake area should definately stop here!!!!!!!!!!!)

Everyone loved the food and the atmosphere... there was even a real Irish guy there!!!!! Sweet! (Ang's parents surprised her, and showed up for the trip)We stayed at this adorable little place called the "Linger Longer Resort" and all the rooms were retro and themed. So cute! We stayed at the "Bogey and Bacall" room. The fridge and furniture were all antiques and the walls were bedecked with Humphery Bogart and Lauren Bacall stuff.

This place was quaint and adorable... it was originally built in the 40's apparently... I would totally go back again! We really had a blast, and it was nice to get away, even just for a weekend!

Bella the Crazy Cat

Okay, SOMETHING crazy is going on... my cat started panting like a dog... I tried to capture it on video... It is odd... Is this a normal occurance? Do cats occasionally think that they are dogs?

Here is my next attempt to get Bella to pant... (Thomas gave up and went to bed)

And again....

The End.

All Hallow's Eve

Okay, Halloween is coming up, and Thomas and I have NOT thought of any good ideas for costumes yet. (We thought of Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinski... but it seemed inappropriate). This is what I looked like last year (I went as my own version of David Mack's Kabuki)

And I looked good (if I do say so myself... which I do...) Thomas, Rebecca and Angie went as "Rock, Paper, and Scissors" which was awesome. I will post pics of that, when I find them too. Someone should help me pick a flippin' sweet costume.

Aunt Alli, pull my finger!

okay, I wish I would've gotten a better video, but my niece is adorable... we were camping, and outta nowhere she says "Aunt Alli, pull my finger!" I was shocked, but I had to pull her little 4 year old finger, just to see what she would do... Then she tickled me. We think she was trying to play "Cut the Pickle"... So, after she did it about a million times, I decided to videotape it, and this video is what I got. She sure is adorable though!

DOES PURPLE MAKE ME LOOK PHAT?

Here is my dear sweet boy...

petting a purple bear. We were driving past the Cal Expo, and there were all these golden bear statues... then we saw this one and had to stop! We pulled over (where there was no parking) and got our pictures taken. I also have a pic of Thomas behind the bear smelling it's buns... but I wouldn't post that one... or would I?

A visit to an old friend

When Thomas and I went to Mendocino, over Labor day, we went down a narrow pathway and happened to find a treasure. Several years ago, I found a bench/artwork called "Bench for a Lonely person" (because the bench already has a mosaic person on it) and I had my picture taken with it. Then, the next time I was there, the bench was gone, and the locals said that it was due to vandalism, and the owner took it away. It was really sad... I think I thought way too much into it, but the bench was lonely without anyone on it... so when the bench got taken away I just thought of how it must be somewhere getting fixed and probably feeling as lonesome/hopeless as a bench could get. So, you can imagine my amazement when we came around the corner and saw it happily situated near some quaint littles stores and flower-bedecked little picket fence. We had to get pictures, and I admit that I teared up... sniff sniff... it made my day!

Why Nature and Alli don't always get along...

Okay, we went to Ft. Bragg for this last Labor day 2008, and I had a blast! There was, however, a horrifying and traumatizing experience for me. Reed, Levi, Thomas and myself all went down to the seemingly innocent/beautiful/serene tide pools. Though we did see some enchanting little sea creatures, I also saw something that changed me as a human being. I may never be the same again. What I saw, I can only call "The crab from Hell". Here are some photos so you can share in my disgust! This thing had a tail and a seaweed-looking eggsac thing coming from its nether region. It was definately evil... It kept looking at me... It was horrible! First Reed just saw a huge crab, and said "hey take my picture" then, he picked it up and said "uh, this isn't any ordinary crab..." and he turned it around to show us its nasty growth. If I could've thrown up, I would have! It was the most disgusting thing that I have ever seen, and honestly I don't think I can eat crab again. It gives me the willies just thinking about that thing! After seeing that, I was so creeped out that I kept saying "Its okay, I like nature... NO, I hate nature!" P.S. Reed is probably going to get some haneous disease for touching that thing... GROSS!
