The Temple-- A Tradition

So, here we are at the Sacramento Temple. We went down recently to see some good friends of ours be sealed together (Karen and Mike Nattress), and to their children(Tyson, Lily, and Elizabeth)! It was an amazing experience, of course. Seeing them all in white was beautiful. I know that God loves us and wants us to be in families forever.
I wanted to tell you guys about a tradition that Thomas and I started several months ago. But let me step back a bit further to set the stage. Thomas and I are in our second year of going to the temple once a month (at least). It has been the most incredible blessing, and I recommend everyone to be worthy and go to the temple as often as you can. Make it a priority and the blessings will come spilling in!
Anyway, I thought (this is my scrapbooking mind thinking) that it would be an awesome heritage to leave to future generations if we took pictures every time we go to the temple! So I haven't started the scrapbook itself, but we have been taking pictures every time we go. We are very excited about this, because we want everyone to know how important and sacred the temple is. So don't sell yourself short... Do what it takes and go! :o) So here are some pics from the last temple visit:

We usually go down to the temple with our dear friends Branndon and Leanne Mohr. Without them, we don't think we could have gotten into the "habit" of going every month. They are great people and friends.

Who is this girl? Its me! And I look good because the temple makes me soooooo HAPPY!!!

Here is one of our favorite-est missionaries. He got to come see the sealing because he was one of the Elders who aided in the baptism of Karen. You can't see it, but he has a fake tooth in front because of a freak missionary accident! :o)

Here we are being goofs. The temple rules. That's all I'm sayin'.

Easter Pics-- Brody, Hunter and Josh hunt eggs

Man!!! I have some super cute nephews. Here they are with chocolate on fingers and mouths.

They were so sweet and adorable. Brody found tons of eggs and was moving like a whirlwind. Hunter had a little harder time finding the eggs :o) And even Joshie got an egg!

Here are the boys sharing, and then, a picture of Brody running to get an egg that everyone was trying to point out to Hunter. It was funny... poor little runt never had a chance.

Go Hunter, Go!!!

Brody would rather plant a garden and play in the dirt than find eggs!

Cute boys lookin for eggs. And this pic of Hunter is the best! This kid should be a model! Hello handsome.
Anyway, we had a great Easter. It was Mom, Dad, Me, Thomas, Eric, Lauren, Hunter, Kevin, Susan, Brody, Josh and our friend Howard. The food was delicious (SMOKED TURKEY... Oh yeah!) Can I just put a blurb about Easter in general too?
Good, I knew you'd all say "yes". I love the Lord. I am so grateful for the sacrifice that Christ was willing to make for me... and for you. We are all more blessed and loved than we know.

Why Men Can't be Trusted to do Dishes

Here is a prime example of why sometimes a man cannot be trusted to do the dishes... I came home to find Thomas gone, and our little kitty Bella in the dishwasher. Thomas had been doing dishes (which is good) and decided to take out the trash (which is good) but left the dishwasher open (which is bad!). I couldn't find Bella, but heard a funny noise. When I followed the sound into the kitchen I saw Bella getting comfy in the dishwasher!

Here she is a little spooked at being caught. The naughty little nut!
Here is Bella looking at me like "Hi Mom, I'm being good, I swear!"
I couldn't get her to come out. I called at her, and hissed at her to get her out and she wouldn't come. SO, I thought I'd take pictures to torment Thomas with when he got back.
She made a face at me.

Here, she is actually scared of me, and scampered to the back of the dishwasher where I couldn't really reach. I finally had to just push the bottom drawer of the dishwasher shut, and she hopped out. Bella is a silly little varmint, but I have to blame Thomas for this one. I guess when we have "real" kids we will have to be more careful with stuff like this!

Squirrel Mama

Okay, BAD picture of me... but here is one of my little squirrel babies... Thomas and I were sitting at home when we had a knock on the door... A tenant of ours said "Um, Thomas, we have a squirrel problem out here... they keep following us around and won't leave us alone". So, Thomas and I go outside and these cute little squirrel babies were running around in the grass. When I stepped out in the lawn, one of the little critters turned and ran straight for me. The little guy scampered up my leg... It was adorable and totally frightening.

So, we had to catch the three little babies and put them in a cat carrier, so that they would stop following the neighbors around. We put them in our office, with a little bowl of water (against my judgement cuz I thought they'd spill it)... When we checked on them that night, they had spilled the water and were like three little drown rats... completely soaked and huddled in a ball. It was so sad, and we were worried that we had killed them... So we hurried them over to our apartment and put the cat carrier in our bathtub.

I put on leather gloves and long sleeves and took the little ones out one at a time and hand dried them with towels. Then I dried out their cage and put fluffy towels in for them to snuggle up in. Luckily, in the morning they had fluffed back up and were looking healthy :o)

My friend Steph found me a lady who rescues orphaned wildlife and takes care of them, and releases them... So I took the babies to this lady, who told me that they were too young to have been released into the wild because they should have been still nursing off of their mother. (A few days before the babies were found, there was a dead adult squirrel near the lawn...)

Thankfully the lady said that the babies were healthy, though a little dehydrated, but had no parasites or visible diseases... :o) which is good, cuz I was so worried about getting sick, or having our kitty Bella get some parasite... So I got to be a Squirrel Mama for a day. Squirrel babies are better than no babies at all... hehehe :o)

Here is the baby scaling the Allison mountain...

So tiny!

I also get to meet my new nephew Caleb and my new niece Abigail! Yeah! I will take loads of pics and post those when I get back.

Also, the best movie ever (TWILIGHT!!!) comes out on my birthday! Me and Twilight are a match made in heaven. I am so totally stoked. (The store "Hot Topic" in the mall has all the necessary Twilight merchandise for any fan slash birthday girl... *hint hint... hehehe kidding! But not really......) :o)

Now all I have to do is conquer the mountain of laundry that has taken over my bedroom! eek! And then I will be ready to take off for a week and a half!

Hope you are all doin' well... love ya! xoxo
